I use a Nikon CoolPix 800 digital camera and take it with me where ever I go. Nature is always a source of inspiration for me.
When I paint I open myself to receiving images from the invisible realms and trace these forms into my work. At some point my paintings complete themselves, often giving me whispers to help my life and things to come.
I work on canvas with acrylic paints or on rag watercolor board with watercolors. When complete I photograph these paintings and download them into my mac computer and bring them up in photoshop, where I have a large collection of my artwork. I use a Wacom tablet and combine my nature photography with images from my art, creating a photo montage.
I co-teach Creativity with Photoshop with computer teacher Greg Ledford at Mayland Community College, Spruce Pine, NC. I also teach Opening to the Creative Self, ongoing art classes through Mayland and Creativity workshops in various locations.

Art is just another way of keeping a diary.
The woods around me have such a magical quality; easier to imagine the invisible realms. Took a pic recently of the late afternoon sun in the woods and am thinking of a new photo montage.....
